2004
& 2005 TOUR CHAMPIONS
The
first half of the 2004 season saw the teams of George Copeland/Otis Patterson
and John/Jody Fowler pull out to what most thought was an insurmountable points
lead with John and Jody scoring two victories. The
Spring also saw the Club record(which had stood for five years)for total winning
weight, fall at Lake Murray by Mike/Howard Bouknight with a weight of 29.95 pounds.
Otis and George
held a substantial points lead throughout the summer with the teams of Joey/Ronnie
Parker and Roland McInville/Mike Alexander moving solidly into the top five in
points.Then came
September, just like the past two years, the points leader failed to boat a fish
moving John/Jody Fowler into the lead with only two tournaments remaining. Then
came October, de ja vous all over again, the points leaders failed to boat a keeper
fish. This vaulted Roland and Mike into the points lead, only eleven points ahead
of Gary McClain and Brad O'Dell, going into the last tournament of the year. The
November tournament saw Roland and Mike close the deal capturing their first Tour
Championship.
The 2005 season saw
Roland and Mike score one of the most consistant and dominate performances
in the history of the Trail. They notched one win, two second place
finishes and eight top ten finishes and lead the points all but one
month of the season.
Gary
McClain and Brad O'Dell kept them in sight most of the year, closing to within
three points before Roland and Mike iced the Championship by winnning the Championship
Tournament. |
